When you take space for yourself, the first experience you might have is one of relief or release. For some of you, it is like, "Ah, I can finally breathe." But for others among you, taking space can be an uncomfortable step at first, which relates to trusting that you can go within. For some of you, the chaos that you sometimes feel inside yourselves when you stop can be initially less desirable to you than going back out there into the storm of people, things, activity, and stimulation. And yet the beauty is that if you can just get through the first two to three minutes, you will notice that space begins to appear.
The chaos that you feel in those first two to three minutes is exactly the sign that you need to stop because your system cannot quite hold all it has experienced. So, it is a gift if you feel that you are in chaos - it is not anything to judge or fear. It confirms your recognition that you need to sit down and breathe for a moment, that you are overdue your meditation, yoga practice, dancing around the house, or going out into the garden and being with the plants and the trees - whatever it is that is one of your first choices for reset.
