We are in a very powerful week of energy. Today, we have Mars at 1° Leo exactly square the Sun at 1° Taurus, and Mars opposing the Moon at 1° Aquarius and Pluto at 3° of that sign. This is strong, yang energy in Fixed signs.
The Moon moves on quickly of course, but the Sun-Mars-Pluto T-square continues all week into the New SuperMoon in Taurus on April 27th, with the Sun exactly square to Pluto on the 23rd.
Personally, if you have any planets or angles in the early degrees (0°-3°) of the Fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius, particularly Aquarius, you may be feeling a lot of intensity and need to change in profound ways. Depending on where the planets are falling in your chart, you are likely to be feeling a need to leave the old behind and step into a new identity which may not be fully clear right now. There may well be a reshuffling of relationships and with the Sun and Moon involved this could be family-related, but Aquarius also is linked to friendships. Know that this is happening for many people right now, we are all on our own soul journey, so bless those relationships and move on into new soul groups which will gradually appear for you.
This 'new you' is strongly suggested by Neptune having moved into Aries on March 30th, but things are likely to become even clearer after Saturn moves into Aries on May 25th.
This Mars-Pluto opposition is the third in a row. The first was on November 3rd 2024 when we saw great polarisation in the US just before the election, then on January 3rd when Mars had moved into the Fire sign of Leo and the terrible LA fires were beginning and this is now the third, with Mars having moved back into Leo on April 18th. This is forceful, raw power.
So it can manifest in many ways. It may be experienced as assertions of power in your own personal life but we will certainly see this in the world. It may again be strong polarisation of views which can seem intractable (Fixed energy), it can be issues coming up around agriculture, food production and farming and resources in general (Taurus) or finance, banking and the stock markets, especially as Mars is conjunct the US North Node in the country's chart, and that Nodal Axis falls across the 2nd/8th houses of the US economy, foreign investment, trade and tariffs.
The chart for China is also activated with Pluto now being conjunct the Moon in that country's chart, and close to the Ascendant, representing the country's identity. That will continue for the next year at least, so we may see more assertions of power in the world from China.
Taurus and Leo are both signs linked to gold so in the update video (below) I mentioned that we may see some changes there. Indeed we have as gold has hit an all-time record last week.
Other likely issues at this time linked to Aquarius are freedom, civil rights, human rights and the demand for greater equality. We are seeing greater autocracy across many governments which is the shadow side of Aquarius, but it is also linked to revolution and the power of the people. It is the increased autocracy that provokes the revolutions.
So we are likely to see kinetic revolution in more countries such as we have had in Serbia recently, but remember that revolution can also be energetic. We can focus our attention away from the system, disengage, stop watching the news, become more self-sufficient and maybe self-employed, connect with like-minded people . .and quite soon you will find your reality to be very different. From this more loving place, create, create, create the world you would prefer to see, going beyond the current polarised reality.
The other expression of this week's strong astrological energy is seismic. In the update video I mentioned several possible geographies and indeed there has already been a large 5.8 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan yesterday, one of the likely areas to be affected, and a 6.2 magnitude one in the Philippines but we may well see more this week.
With these strong geometries in the Fixed signs, the energy builds up and then eventually has to 'blow' in a bigger way than if there was some flex in the astrology. Equally, you may be feeling intense, frustrated, blocked, or in limbo as your old world is falling away but the new one has not quite arrived yet, and you are feeling oddly between two worlds.
Indeed, that is exactly what is happening energetically. Our evolution is moving fast as we have made such good progress as humanity in raising our consciousness and the cosmic energies are accelerating this. Just know that we are in the crysalis, in the 'mush' of transformation, and it is only when we become the butterfly and take flight that we will really appreciate how far we have come.
We will remain on this Earth, but are already operating at a different frequency. So we may think that we are living in the same house, driving the same car, going about our days in similar ways to the past, but our frequency has changed profoundly. Everything begins with energy first and we are rapidly building a new architecture of light around our Earth with our love, peace, compassion and gratitude, all emotions of coherence, and this has to manifest in our world. But the energy always comes before form manifests.
So what is the best way to handle this week's energy? Book more stillness meetings with yourself. Do more breathwork and meditation, be in nature more, stare deeply into a flower, practice dropping into bliss . . . make your energy, state of being and coherence your absolutely top priorities. That is not only the best thing you can do for yourself, but also you will be of the greatest service for humanity.
I believe that we are entering a period of greater seismic activity and more Earth changes. Again, staying in peace will help the calm of the waves of the Earth's labour pains.
