The sun has been extremely active this past week, with numerous solar flares on it's surface, causing pretty much back to back solar storms, and incredibly intense and super charged energy in our planet's atmosphere.
There have been even more flares over the last couple of days, and today and tomorrow turbulent G1, as well as higher level G2 geomagnetic storms are on the way.
We have had very few G2 level space storms this year - we are just going through a volatile period right now due to a bout of activiy on the sun, as we near the end of aurora season.
