If you feel sad, feel sad. If you feel angry, feel angry. Don’t judge your emotions because you think they are unspiritual. To be spiritual is to be alive. To feel is to be alive, for most human beings. And when you allow those feelings through, they move very quickly. And when you judge or suppress, or if they have become stuck, and you’re not sure you know how to move them, keep asking. Simply put the prayer out:

“I want to be ready to release this weight I am carrying as soon as possible. I want that release to be supported with grace and love and for me to know what I need in those moments.”

Humanity has great light but also has wounds. This need not be seen as a depressing thing; this is just a fact. Those of you who've become aware of this and find ways to release, evolve, heal, and move beyond your wounding, you create that template for all. Many of you elected to come here and embody wounding so that you could understand how to transform it. Yes, some of you are healers who directly work with others on their wounds in a very conscious, focused way. And others among you may not do it in quite the same way.

But because you went from being a very, very frightened child and frightened young adult and, by your 70s, reached a state of liberation and freedom that you didn't know was possible, anyone who comes into contact with you who is somewhere down that ladder of fear and restriction will love you. But they won't know why. They will gravitate to you, but they won't know why. They may think, “Ah, they're just such a funny personality, and that's why I like being around them.” No, there are comedians everywhere. What they are actually interested in is being close to someone who they can tell has moved through something that they are currently experiencing.

Self-care is not a luxury. Self-love is not a saying. Self-love and self-care are ways of being, ways you can practice any moment now. So, come to the present for a moment, not the past where you might be judging yourself for all the times you didn't love yourself, care for yourself. Come to the present, where your ability to practice and be with self-love and self-care is new, is possible, is open.

I get it - steady is not going to be an easy thing to attain, but the more you can just give yourself short, small moments of steadiness, steadiness is going to power you up. There's a lot of power in stillness right now, and a lot of power in you feeling steady. So, even if your life is chaos, see if you can give yourself five minutes a day, five times a day. Set an alarm on your phone or whatever you need to do to try and make sure that happens.

And the steadiness could just be stillness. You could just go out the back door of your house and look at the sky just for five minutes. And you might think, "God, my mind is racing. My mind is racing." Doesn't matter. Just give yourself that five minutes of looking at the sky, mindlessly. And if you practice that five times a day, you will start to stabilize a little more. You will be able to introduce steadiness to your life. Steadiness is where the power lies.
